Almond Breeze

Director Doug Walker recently teamed with S.F. agency The Community, to helm two TV spots for Blue Diamond Almond Breeze.

Caruso Company recently brought its “Play. Have Fun. Do Business” mindset to a new collaboration with The Community on a campaign for Blue Diamond Almond Breeze. At the center of it was director Doug Walker, a natural storyteller known for connecting with real people in a genuine way. The goal was simple: create something that feels honest and human—not overproduced or disconnected from the moment.

The spots were filmed out in California’s Central Valley, surrounded by the orchards where the story actually lives. Instead of casting actors, the team worked with real growers and their families, capturing small, authentic moments that reflect what the brand stands for. Alongside DP Norman Bonney, Doug leaned into the emotional side of it all—the land, the work, and the people behind it—bringing a warmth that carries through the final films.

A big part of the Caruso approach is keeping things people-first, both on screen and on set. Creating a relaxed, positive environment made it easier for everyone to be themselves, which ultimately shows up in the footage. It’s less about forcing a message and more about letting something real come through.

The production also benefited from Caruso’s ongoing collaboration with 1606 Studio. With Doug serving as both director and editor, the project had a seamless throughline from shoot to final cut. That continuity helped keep the original vision intact while streamlining the overall process.

At the end of the day, this project is a good example of how Caruso works—balancing craft with authenticity, and making sure the work connects on a human level. Whether it’s a global campaign or a story rooted in a local community, the focus is always the same: make something that feels real and resonates.
