OXIGEN “It Doesn’t Take An Ahtlete” with Steph Curry
Director: Doug Walker
Directed by Doug Walker, this campaign for OXIGEN—created in partnership with Erich & Kallman—reframes the idea of recovery, expanding it beyond elite sports and into everyday life.
Featuring Stephen Curry, the film challenges a common assumption: that recovery is only for professional athletes. Instead, it positions recovery as something everyone needs—whether you’re on a court, on the job, or simply managing the physical and mental demands of daily life.
The voiceover sets the tone. Curry speaks not just to athletes, but to anyone pushing through long hours, adapting to new challenges, or carrying more than their share of pressure. The message is grounded and relatable—recovery isn’t about getting back to baseline, it’s about moving forward stronger, smarter, and more prepared for what’s next.
Visually, the film mirrors that idea by blending athletic imagery with everyday moments. It connects high-performance recovery with real-world effort, creating a bridge between elite sports and the broader human experience. The tone stays understated and authentic, allowing the message to land without feeling overly polished or distant.
From a production standpoint, Caruso Company brought together a streamlined team across multiple locations, with additional support from Circle Productions in Toronto. The project also benefited from a tight post pipeline, including editorial by 1606 Studio and finishing work that kept the visuals clean and focused.
At its core, the campaign is about accessibility. It makes the case that recovery isn’t a luxury or a niche—it’s essential. And while it may not take a famous athlete to prove that point, having one helps bring the message home in a powerful, relatable way.
