Our recent work for Arbor Video Doorbell featuring their spokespersons, The Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood.
For this campaign, Arbor took a familiar story and gave it a modern, slightly mischievous twist. Centered around their video doorbell product, the spot reimagines the classic characters of the Big Bad Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood—this time with a smart home angle.
The idea is simple: what if The Big Bad Wolf had a video doorbell? Suddenly, the dynamic changes. The Wolf isn’t quite so intimidating when he’s stuck inside (and questioned) through a camera, and Red Riding Hood is free to come and go as she pleases. It’s a playful way to show how Arbor’s technology adds a layer of security and control, without getting overly technical about it.
Directed by Robert Caruso, the tone leans into humor and familiarity. Everyone already knows the story, so the fun comes from subverting expectations and letting the characters interact in a more modern, self-aware way. The performances strike that balance between theatrical and grounded, helping the concept land without feeling too over-the-top.
Working with agency Rob Smiley, the team kept the storytelling tight and accessible. The goal wasn’t just to get a laugh—it was to make the product benefit instantly clear. You see the problem, you see the solution, and it all unfolds in a way that feels natural and entertaining.
From a production standpoint, the focus was on clean visuals that tilt to a bit of a mid century / storybook vibe. Think Fairy tale meets Wes Anderson merged with strong pacing, letting the concept and fun characters carry the piece. The end result is a spot that feels light, memorable, and easy to connect with—while still reinforcing Arbor’s core message around safety and awareness at your front door.
